Recipes:
In "Moonstruck," when Ronny Cammareri (Nicolas
Cage) appears at the home of Loretta Castorini (Cher)
for breakfast, Rose Castorini (Olympie Dukakis) is making
"Moonstruck eggs."
Will,
age 8, saw this movie recently and chose Agnes' organic
Bake'mmm bagels to make his version of the perfect
Moonstruck eggs! Will's Mom says, "he's been a bagel
fan since the age of 6 months!" Thanks go to Will
who lives in Redlands, CA for sharing this recipe with
us. We call them
Will's Moonstruck Bagels
Serves 4-6
3
Agnes' organic bake 'mmm bagels, baked
1 Tbls. olive oil
6 extra-large eggs, preferably free-range, organic
Salt & Pepper, to taste
1.
Bake Agnes' organic Bake'mmm bagels, following
the package instructions.
2. Slice bagels in half (ask for help from an adult)
and widen the hole in the bagels to about 2 inches by
pushing with your fingers-or have an adult help you cut
a larger hole with a serrated knife.
3. Rub a heavy skillet with the olive oil and heat
on medium heat.
4. Place the bagel halves on the skillet and crack
an egg into each center hole.
5. When the egg is about half cooked (firm enough
to flip), flip the "Moonstruck Bagel" and continue
cooking until the egg is the desired consistency-runny,
medium, or hard.
6. Add freshly ground sea salt and black pepper to
taste.
Moonstruck
Bagels are great finger food! Be careful to eat it over
your plate, though-Will's brother Nelson loves his Moonstruck
Bagels runny and one morning the hot, runny yolk dripped
onto his bare leg. Nelson said that it "smarted a
little."
Now everyone is careful.
